SEA FREIGHT

Sea Freight is the most common method in international commerce trade.

Sea freight has 2 types:

• Full Container Loading (FCL)

• Less than Container Loading (LCL)

International Sea freight does not have a fixed price (Sea freight). Charges will change from time to time, each type of goods and each route.

                                     

How to calculate sea freight?

Sea freight cost includes Ocean Freight and Local charges.

• O/F (Ocean Freight) is tax-free and sometimes has additional charges will be included in the O/F. For example, Low Sulphur Surcharge (LSS), Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS), Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), etc

O/F changes constantly and the cycle is usually 1 month, even shorter is 7 days in peak season.

• Local charges are local fee and have taxes. Anh Duong will list the local charges for each case of sea freight.

Cost of Sea Freight for Export

• B/L – Bill of lading: sea waybill fee – (Unit: Shipment) – Compulsory
• THC – Terminal Handling Charge: Fee for loading containers from container yard to ship – (Unit: Container) – Compulsory
• Seal – container seal – (Unit: Container) – Compulsory
• Telex release (if required): (Unit: Shipment) – Optional

Telex releases are usually requested by the buyer and paid by the seller. But Anh Duong still put telex release at the consignee's expense. This fee will be negotiated by both parties. By default, if the buyer requests a telex release, the seller has to pay.

• Other fees (if any): Depending on the time and exporting country – Optional

For example: Fuel surcharge, peak season surcharge, AMS fee when exporting to the US, etc.

• THC – Terminal Handling Charge: Fee for loading containers from container yard to ship – Unit (Container) – Compulsory
• CFS – Container Freight Station: LCL explotation fee – Unit (Cubic metre – CBM) – Compulsory

• Other fees (if any): Depending on the time and exporting country – Optional

Note for sending Inquiry:

When submitting an Inquiry, you should provide full information in detail. For liquid, chemical-related, flammable goods, you must provide MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheet - Safety instruction sheet. Based on the MSDS to determine the danger level, FWD will provide the exact freight for this type of cargo.

 

Some shipping lines do not accept high-risk cargo. Therefore, providing detailed shipment information is essential for fowarders to find the right shipping company.

 

Item requires an MSDS:

• Cosmetics, perfumes, charcoal, lubricants, chemicals, etc.

 

If your cargo is LCL, is a special size machine. You should send extra dimensions for FWD to check to see if it fits the container or not.

 

Show understanding during price check, detailed inquiry. FWD will understand you as a professional. They will give you a really best price.

 

If your Inquiry is vague, too little information, FWD maybe will give you a high rate to avoid incurring costs that are still within the price range. They can cover and they also understand you are a newbie.
